Funeral Transport from Ireland to Montenegro

When someone passes away in Ireland and is to be laid to rest in Montenegro, we take care of everything: collection, documents, preparation and transport to the place of burial or cremation. One call is enough, at any hour.

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Repatriation from Ireland to Montenegro, handled from start to finish

Losing someone far from home is hard enough without having to deal with foreign authorities and paperwork in another language. We collect the deceased anywhere in Ireland, including Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, and bring them with dignity to any town or city in Montenegro, such as Podgorica, Nikšić, Bijelo Polje, Bar, Herceg Novi.

The remains are flown as air cargo on scheduled flights from Dublin (DUB) or Cork (ORK) to Podgorica (TGD) or Tivat (TIV), with hearse transfers to the airport and from the airport to the place of rest. A road and ferry option can be arranged on request.

The family does not need to travel to arrange anything. We work directly with the hospital, the registry office, the consulate where needed, and the cemetery or funeral home in Montenegro.

Documents for funeral transport from Ireland to Montenegro

In Ireland the death is registered with the civil registration service. Where a coroner is involved, the coroner must release the remains before they can leave the country.

For international transport the following documents are usually required. We obtain them on behalf of the family:

  • Civil death certificate, ideally the international multilingual extract
  • Medical certificate confirming the cause of death is not infectious
  • Corpse passport (laissez-passer) for international transport
  • Certificate of embalming or preservation, where required
  • Certificate confirming the zinc-lined coffin has been sealed
  • Copy of the passport or ID card of the deceased

On arrival in Montenegro we hand over to the family or the local funeral service and coordinate the burial with the cemetery. Montenegro is outside the EU, so the hearse crosses a customs border; we prepare the paperwork in advance.

This route crosses a customs border. We prepare the customs declaration and the accompanying papers in advance, so the hearse is not held up at the border.
