Funeral Transport from Ireland to Croatia
When someone passes away in Ireland and is to be laid to rest in Croatia, we take care of everything: collection, documents, preparation and transport to the place of burial or cremation. One call is enough, at any hour.
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Repatriation from Ireland to Croatia, handled from start to finish
Losing someone far from home is hard enough without having to deal with foreign authorities and paperwork in another language. We collect the deceased anywhere in Ireland, including Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, and bring them with dignity to any town or city in Croatia, such as Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek, Zadar.
The remains are flown as air cargo on scheduled flights from Dublin (DUB) or Cork (ORK) to Zagreb (ZAG) or Split (SPU), with hearse transfers to the airport and from the airport to the place of rest. A road and ferry option can be arranged on request.
The family does not need to travel to arrange anything. We work directly with the hospital, the registry office, the consulate where needed, and the cemetery or funeral home in Croatia.

Documents for funeral transport from Ireland to Croatia
In Ireland the death is registered with the civil registration service. Where a coroner is involved, the coroner must release the remains before they can leave the country.
For international transport the following documents are usually required. We obtain them on behalf of the family:
- Civil death certificate, ideally the international multilingual extract
- Medical certificate confirming the cause of death is not infectious
- Corpse passport (laissez-passer) for international transport
- Certificate of embalming or preservation, where required
- Certificate confirming the zinc-lined coffin has been sealed
- Copy of the passport or ID card of the deceased
On arrival in Croatia we coordinate with the cemetery administration and the local funeral service. Croatia is in the EU and in Schengen, so there are no customs formalities from other EU countries.

How the transport works
- You call us. One phone call, any time. We ask a few questions and explain what happens next.
- We collect the deceased from the hospital, care home, home or mortuary and take them into our care.
- We handle all documents with the registry office, the authorities, the consulate and the cemetery at the destination.
- Preparation and coffin. Washing, dressing, embalming where needed and placement in a sealed zinc-lined coffin for international transport.
- Transport by our own hearse or by air, on the fastest legal route.
- Handover at the destination to the family, the receiving funeral home or directly at the cemetery.
Once the documents are ready, which usually takes a few working days, the flight is booked on the next suitable connection. We tell the family the flight details and the arrival time as soon as they are confirmed.
