Funeral Transport from Germany to Montenegro

When someone passes away in Germany and is to be laid to rest in Montenegro, we take care of everything: collection, documents, preparation and transport to the place of burial or cremation. One call is enough, at any hour.

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Repatriation from Germany to Montenegro, handled from start to finish

Losing someone far from home is hard enough without having to deal with foreign authorities and paperwork in another language. We collect the deceased anywhere in Germany, including Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, and bring them with dignity to any town or city in Montenegro, such as Podgorica, Nikšić, Bijelo Polje, Bar, Herceg Novi.

Over this distance there are two options. By hearse via Zagreb and Sarajevo, which keeps the deceased in one vehicle from start to finish, or by air for the fastest arrival, with hearse transfers to and from the airports (Frankfurt (FRA) or Munich (MUC) and Podgorica (TGD) or Tivat (TIV)).

The family does not need to travel to arrange anything. We work directly with the hospital, the registry office, the consulate where needed, and the cemetery or funeral home in Montenegro.

Documents for funeral transport from Germany to Montenegro

In Germany the doctor issues the medical death certificate (Todesbescheinigung), the registry office (Standesamt) issues the civil death certificate (Sterbeurkunde), and the competent local authority issues the corpse passport (Leichenpass) that is required for any transport abroad.

For international transport the following documents are usually required. We obtain them on behalf of the family:

  • Civil death certificate, ideally the international multilingual extract
  • Medical certificate confirming the cause of death is not infectious
  • Corpse passport (laissez-passer) for international transport
  • Certificate of embalming or preservation, where required
  • Certificate confirming the zinc-lined coffin has been sealed
  • Copy of the passport or ID card of the deceased

On arrival in Montenegro we hand over to the family or the local funeral service and coordinate the burial with the cemetery. Montenegro is outside the EU, so the hearse crosses a customs border; we prepare the paperwork in advance.

This route crosses a customs border. We prepare the customs declaration and the accompanying papers in advance, so the hearse is not held up at the border.
