Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Repatriation from Spain to Switzerland, handled from start to finish
Losing someone far from home is hard enough without having to deal with foreign authorities and paperwork in another language. We collect the deceased anywhere in Spain, including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Málaga, Seville, and bring them with dignity to any town or city in Switzerland, such as Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Bern, Lausanne.
Over this distance there are two options. By hearse via Lyon and Montpellier, which keeps the deceased in one vehicle from start to finish, or by air for the fastest arrival, with hearse transfers to and from the airports (Madrid (MAD), Barcelona (BCN) or Málaga (AGP) and Zurich (ZRH) or Geneva (GVA)).
The family does not need to travel to arrange anything. We work directly with the hospital, the registry office, the consulate where needed, and the cemetery or funeral home in Switzerland.

Documents for funeral transport from Spain to Switzerland
In Spain the death is recorded at the Civil Registry (Registro Civil), which issues the death certificate (certificado de defunción). The health authority of the autonomous community authorises the international transfer of the remains (traslado internacional de cadáver).
For international transport the following documents are usually required. We obtain them on behalf of the family:
- Civil death certificate, ideally the international multilingual extract
- Medical certificate confirming the cause of death is not infectious
- Corpse passport (laissez-passer) for international transport
- Certificate of embalming or preservation, where required
- Certificate confirming the zinc-lined coffin has been sealed
- Copy of the passport or ID card of the deceased
Switzerland is part of Schengen but not of the EU customs union, so remains entering the country cross a customs border. We prepare the customs paperwork and coordinate with the municipality and cemetery of the place of rest.
This route crosses a customs border. We prepare the customs declaration and the accompanying papers in advance, so the hearse is not held up at the border.

- We collect the deceased from the hospital, care home, home or mortuary and take them into our care.

- Preparation and coffin. Washing, dressing, embalming where needed and placement in a sealed zinc-lined coffin for international transport.
- Transport by our own hearse or by air, on the fastest legal route.
- Handover at the destination to the family, the receiving funeral home or directly at the cemetery.
