Funeral Transport from Germany to France
When someone passes away in Germany and is to be laid to rest in France, we take care of everything: collection, documents, preparation and transport to the place of burial or cremation. One call is enough, at any hour.
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Repatriation from Germany to France, handled from start to finish
Losing someone far from home is hard enough without having to deal with foreign authorities and paperwork in another language. We collect the deceased anywhere in Germany, including Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, and bring them with dignity to any town or city in France, such as Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Strasbourg, Nice.
We drive the deceased by our own hearse, door to door, from Frankfurt and anywhere else in Germany directly to the place of rest in France. The usual route runs via Saarbrücken and Metz. There is no transfer between vehicles and the deceased is accompanied the whole way.
The family does not need to travel to arrange anything. We work directly with the hospital, the registry office, the consulate where needed, and the cemetery or funeral home in France.

Documents for funeral transport from Germany to France
In Germany the doctor issues the medical death certificate (Todesbescheinigung), the registry office (Standesamt) issues the civil death certificate (Sterbeurkunde), and the competent local authority issues the corpse passport (Leichenpass) that is required for any transport abroad.
For international transport the following documents are usually required. We obtain them on behalf of the family:
- Civil death certificate, ideally the international multilingual extract
- Medical certificate confirming the cause of death is not infectious
- Corpse passport (laissez-passer) for international transport
- Certificate of embalming or preservation, where required
- Certificate confirming the zinc-lined coffin has been sealed
- Copy of the passport or ID card of the deceased
On arrival in France the burial or cremation is arranged with the town hall of the place of rest, which issues the burial authorisation.
