Funeral Transport from United Kingdom to Germany
When someone passes away in the United Kingdom and is to be laid to rest in Germany, we take care of everything: collection, documents, preparation and transport to the place of burial or cremation. One call is enough, at any hour.
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Repatriation from United Kingdom to Germany, handled from start to finish
Losing someone far from home is hard enough without having to deal with foreign authorities and paperwork in another language. We collect the deceased anywhere in the United Kingdom, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, and bring them with dignity to any town or city in Germany, such as Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne.
The standard option is our hearse with a Channel crossing between Calais and Dover or Folkestone, via Brussels, Calais and the Channel crossing. When time matters most, we can fly the deceased instead, with hearse transfers at both ends.
The family does not need to travel to arrange anything. We work directly with the hospital, the registry office, the consulate where needed, and the cemetery or funeral home in Germany.

Documents for funeral transport from United Kingdom to Germany
In England and Wales the death is registered with the local register office, and the coroner must be notified before a body is taken out of the country (Form 104, “out of England”). The coroner normally releases the body after a waiting period of several working days. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own procedures, which we also handle.
For international transport the following documents are usually required. We obtain them on behalf of the family:
- Civil death certificate, ideally the international multilingual extract
- Medical certificate confirming the cause of death is not infectious
- Corpse passport (laissez-passer) for international transport
- Certificate of embalming or preservation, where required
- Certificate confirming the zinc-lined coffin has been sealed
- Copy of the passport or ID card of the deceased
On arrival in Germany we agree the burial or cremation date with the cemetery administration (Friedhofsverwaltung) and the receiving funeral home. German law generally requires burial in a cemetery, so the place of rest is confirmed before departure.
This route crosses a customs border. We prepare the customs declaration and the accompanying papers in advance, so the hearse is not held up at the border.

- We collect the deceased from the hospital, care home, home or mortuary and take them into our care.
- We handle all documents with the registry office, the authorities, the consulate and the cemetery at the destination.
- Preparation and coffin. Washing, dressing, embalming where needed and placement in a sealed zinc-lined coffin for international transport.
- Transport by our own hearse or by air, on the fastest legal route.
- Handover at the destination to the family, the receiving funeral home or directly at the cemetery.
