Funeral Transport from Germany to Netherlands

When someone passes away in Germany and is to be laid to rest in the Netherlands, we take care of everything: collection, documents, preparation and transport to the place of burial or cremation. One call is enough, at any hour.

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Repatriation from Germany to Netherlands, handled from start to finish

Losing someone far from home is hard enough without having to deal with foreign authorities and paperwork in another language. We collect the deceased anywhere in Germany, including Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, and bring them with dignity to any town or city in the Netherlands, such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Eindhoven.

We drive the deceased by our own hearse, door to door, from Cologne and anywhere else in Germany directly to the place of rest in the Netherlands. The usual route runs via the A3 motorway via Arnhem. There is no transfer between vehicles and the deceased is accompanied the whole way.

The family does not need to travel to arrange anything. We work directly with the hospital, the registry office, the consulate where needed, and the cemetery or funeral home in the Netherlands.

Documents for funeral transport from Germany to Netherlands

In Germany the doctor issues the medical death certificate (Todesbescheinigung), the registry office (Standesamt) issues the civil death certificate (Sterbeurkunde), and the competent local authority issues the corpse passport (Leichenpass) that is required for any transport abroad.

For international transport the following documents are usually required. We obtain them on behalf of the family:

  • Civil death certificate, ideally the international multilingual extract
  • Medical certificate confirming the cause of death is not infectious
  • Corpse passport (laissez-passer) for international transport
  • Certificate of embalming or preservation, where required
  • Certificate confirming the zinc-lined coffin has been sealed
  • Copy of the passport or ID card of the deceased

On arrival in the Netherlands the burial or cremation is arranged with the municipality and the receiving cemetery or crematorium.
